We displayed and sampled our cookies at the Women's & Food Expo held this weekend in Monroeville Pa. For two days, we shared a booth with Basket Affair from Pittsburgh with their gorgeous gourmet gift baskets . We're tired from all the prepartions but we had a good time meeting new customers and other vendors at the show. I had time to walk around and talk to some of the local vendors, so many interesting stories to tell about small businesses out there. Everyone is trying to build and grow their own business, but also most seem enthusiastic about supporting others in their endeavors. Thanks to everyone who attended the show and stopped by to see us, we hope you found some new ideas for gift giving this Holiday season!

Ginger Chocolate Chunk

A wonderful soft molasses & dark chocolate cookie

When I tell people this is my new favorite cookie, Ginger Chocolate Chunk, some are not so sure. Ginger and Chocolate? But it really does work, the chocolate is premium quality and dark. The ginger and cinnamon add just the right spice and the molasses and butter and brown sugar combine for just the right sweetness. And to make the cookie a favorite, it's crunchy on the edges and soft in the middle. I can easily enjoy one of these instead of lunch . It's our featured cookie of the month in September, will go away in October and November, but we will be returning it for the Holidays in December.

Fall Decorated Acorns and Leaves

It's still supposed to hit 80 degrees today here in Western Pennsylvania, but last night was in the 50's so we know that Fall is coming soon. I've been waiting to bring out the fall colors of ribbons, I really love the natural cremes, chocolate brownies, deep reds, wine colors and warm yellow and oranges. We've decorated some new fall leaves and acorns. They should be available later this week online to order for cookie favors and in our assorted cookie gifts.

Cookie Favors Monograms

These simple but elegant monogram cookies were done for a bridal shower in an array of rainbow colors. I like the simplicity of these cookies, with cello favor bag and a pretty bow, they are perfect for a bridal shower or wedding. Our sugar cookies are baked with all natural ingredients and hand-rolled, then hand decorated. Every batch is custom made to order.

The latest Colors for Cookies

Lime green and chocolate Brown frostings look great on our hand-rolled sugar birthday cookies. We also came up with a teal green/blue color that looks just right for a summer birthday.

Chocolate Chip Cookies fresh from the oven

Chocolate Chip Cookies are the hardest cookie to bake, I think. Maybe the weather is to blame, one too large egg, not quite enough flour, overbeating the batter, the butter not at the right temperature, etc. But today I got it right! Slightly crispy on the outside, chocolate melting everywhere, buttery, melt-in-your-mouth texture, soft in the middle, well, enough said. I hope it doesn't sound like I'm bragging, but cookie bakers will understand. The cookie was worth the calories today!

Fresh Baked Chocolate Chip Cookies

I just baked a batch of Super Chocolate Chunk cookies for a custom order today and couldn't resist taking a photo. I gave up my lunch today for one of these.

Red, White & Blue Cookies

I just finished baking a batch of our new cookie which we will feature the month of July, our RED, WHITE & BLUE Cookie. We start with our chocolate chip recipe batter, instead of chocolate chips, we add dried blueberries, cranberries and Callebaut White Chocolate Chunks. The sweetness of the white chocolate and the slightly tart flavor of the cranberries and blueberries create an absolutely wonderful cookie! I had to pack up the remaining cookies quickly to avoid eating more than one.

Stanley Lord Stanley! Pittsburgh is crazy for the Penquins! I know that this hockey team picked up many new fans this year, it was such a fun season, we can't wait until next season!

Brown Box Specials

New this summer are our Brown Box Specials. Our signature gift box is a 2 pc Chocolate Brown and Creamy Vanilla box that looks so nice with almost any color ribbon or raffia. It's also a sturdy box so the cookies and brownies inside ship well whether shippng locally in Pennsylvania or across the country.

Father's Day Shirts in colors and designs to fit all Dads, no matter what style they dress! We're working on a hoodie and a flannel shirt also. These may be prove to be a challenge. Still lots of time for Fathers' Day!

We use pastry bags to do our outlining and plastic bottles with tips for flooding. The spring colors are gorgeous from deep pink to fuschia to lemon yellow. A great addition to our Mother's Day cookie gifts this year!

We're decorating Daisy cookies for Mother's Day shipping next week. Cookies are baked and ready to be iced. Outlining with royal icing using a # 3 tip is next, followed by flooding with a thinner icing.
